Oakland is in town starting on Friday and it’s reunion weekend for the 2014 team. So that’s automatic fun. AL Central showdown with Detroit follows that.
I’m no pitching coach, but when I see that I tend to think the pitcher is a little amped up and overthrowing. Rushing the mechanics perhaps. We know he can sustain success so it’s just a matter of finding a bit of comfort and rhythm. Maybe that comes with a mechanical tweak.
When Velazquez showed up last season, I thought he looked very fit and strong. I do not feel the same way after seeing a few games in person this season. Has his fitness been brought up as a potential issue? Sometimes guys have success and slip on what got them to the majors in the first place. Thoughts?
I haven’t heard anything about his fitness, or lack thereof, this year. He does look a little thicker in the midsection, but it’s difficult for me to tell. He played a lot of winter ball in Puerto Rico and his team advanced to the Caribbean Series so he was busy playing ball this winter.
Third place in the central has a .585 winning percentage. Ridiculous. Well I'm excited for these series.
Glad to see the Royals get one on Seattle. They looked unbeatable in game 1.
What's the coming homestand look like? I got to get out there.

LOVE "Manfred Man" - don't think Gen Z, or X for that matter, will get the reference.
Anyway a HUGE win and I'm really happy for Nellie. Rectify, baby, rectify.
They needed it for sure. I really like Velázquez. Hoping this is the start of a resurgence.
McArthur looks to me like he's got a mechanical problem. He was yanking everything gloveside last night.
