* Thrilled with the way the pitching dominated The Walking Dead Twins. (Royce Lewis is totally lost).
* Beating Duran and Jax, especially, was HUGE.
* Isbel needs to flatten his swing. When he does and determines to go oppo? He's perfect at 9th.
* Can't help but say I'm concerned about BWJ's and Salvy's slumps and am convinced fatigue is the cause. I would suggest alternating them at DH Mon & Tue and completely sit both of them Wed. Back-to-back off days can only help.
Thanks, Terry. I’m not too worried about Witt and Perez. There’s probably some fatigue involved but hopefully there’s an opportunity to give them a rest down the stretch. Your plan sounds like a start.
A.) I'm not convinced it would have been runner's interference had Blanco and Lewis collided. Lewis was not as close to the plate as I think an interference call would have demanded. He might, instead, have been charged with obstruction himself.
B.) How did you get that table of wins and losses there at the end? I've been manually counting them up for a week. Is it a stathead thing?
I think any interference call would’ve been highly subjective. Just a difficult call either way. Perhaps it’s bias, but I think the umpire did the right thing in just letting the play go.
The table is just from the standings page at B-Ref and toggled on since this date. I’m tapping this out on my phone but I think this link will take you there:
Baldelli totally would’ve been justified going the Ned Yost School of Pitching Management route…let the starter go until a runner gets on base. Then bullpen. Still, to piece together a rally against the back of that bullpen was extremely impressive.
I knew this entry was running long, but was shocked at exactly how long it went. I need an editor. So I cut the broom crown thing which I hated to do. And will revisit the odds graph very soon!
I don’t think they’ll wear the City Connects beyond the regular season. I imagine at home it will be the whites if they have a night game and the powder blues for the afternoons.

* Terrif piece, Mr. B. Thank you much.

Yeah, that link works, but I still can't figure out how you got there to begin with. lol. I guess I'll just have to bookmark it! Thanks!
I figured it out, you have to go through the Scores and Standings page, not just the Standings page.
Ahhhhh…Sorry! I go through the schedule and results page on the team pages. Click the date on the left and you’ll get there.
Taking out Ober was the tipping point of the game, series, and possibly the season. Stupid decisions by other managers—how great is that?!

Great read as always, but must admit i am kinda missing the royals sweep image and the playoff probability graph.
Right there with you on the unis - strong! Did it make you wonder what they will be wearing for a postseason homestand?

That sweep had me dreaming of full powder :)
