Nice summary. My theory is that Picollo is still working Plans A through whatever to resolve the Massey/India/Garcia triad, and add a power outfield bat. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out. Oh, and cromulent? Nice. I have a well-above-average vocabulary, IMHO, but I had to look that one up. Happy New Year, Craig.
The Wacha signing then extension should be a model for other free agent signings. Get someone in the fold on a shorter term contract on a good team with a good group, and then you can extend for a reasonable price.
It can really work for a team like the Royals. Get someone in on an expiring contract, give them the tools to succeed, see if they want to keep using those tools. Having a winning team helps as well.
John Rave has had 2 good to above average years in Omaha, yet no one ever mentions him as a possibility in KC. Craig, what is your thoughts on him as least a platoon bat in one of the corner outfield spots? Good to have you back, as I have missed you lately.
Thanks, Paul. I’m not sold on Rave as anything more than an organization guy. He improved last summer in AAA and added power, which you love to see, but he just turned 27 last week and has yet to crack the 40-man.

I hope you’re right that the plan is still coming together. There’s still time, obviously, and things always slow down over the holidays.
Cromulent was a favorite over at Royals Review when I was over there. Great word.
I felt using the word cromulent was perfectly acceptable and satisfactory.
