I was at the game last night and agree with your analysis. The Royals look competitive this year. Not a playoff team or close, but competitive (and the low turnout from the Orioles fans was an indication of how the Royals are viewed throughout the league). Lack of situational hitting (and talent) is going to be a problem, and the bullpen is ok but not more than that. Obviously, the starting pitching has been very good so far. But we had great seats and Bobby hit the crap out of that ball, and that’s what I’ll remember.

One thing I haven’t touched on is the early struggles of Pasquantino. When he settles in, the lineup will feel different. If someone asks me what my top concern is for this team less than a week into the season it would be the bullpen. Of course, that can change in a matter of days. Ahhh…the danger of early season analysis.

Camden Yards is high on my list of stadiums to visit. I love watching games there. I’m generally happy that Baltimore has a good team again.

Yes, Camden Yards is a great place to watch a game. And hopefully Vinnie will figure it out, because a hole in the 3 spot is a real problem.
