I don't think so. He seems just one of those dudes who feels slighted by just about anything said from the outside. Different guys find motivation in different places.
I don’t understand why any person affiliated with a professional sport would bet on doorts, legal or not. Avoid even the risk of the appearance of impropriety.
Tough call on the salary cap--one of those "two things can be true."
First, it's patently unfair that big-market teams can gobble up the best players, which leads to a lack of on-field competitiveness.
Second, players should be able to extract every penny they can from billionaire owners.
Side note: I was so disgusted in 1994 that I boycotted baseball for at least a decade. Fortunately, the Royals were terrible & I didn't miss much. I started watching again & buying Royals gear ca. 2011.
A Juan Soto or Shohei Ohtani are rare in free agency. But the rest should be in play for every team. The Padres are a great example. But have they spent well? Probably not, although they’ve had some bad luck in the postseason. An argument can be made that the playing field has been leveled a bit with Wild Cards and best out of three/five series.
Another extended work stoppage would be catastrophic for the game.
Rambling: Bregman is butt-hurt, too bad. Royals don't have the money to be in on Bregman (and they don't need to make the clubhouse suffer). Pete Alonso and the Mets both need each other. Of course Vinnie likes that swing, he crushed it. Salary cap should equal ticket price cap should equal food and beverage prices cap should equal owners profit cap should equal, oh well you get it. One of the best umpires fired. Did it help baseball, no.
Bergman sounds like a piece of work; does that translate into a clubhouse negative?

That’s a difficult way to go thru life, gazillions notwithstanding….

Taft should read “sports”, not doorts. Fat fingers.
I am not against gambling or wagering on sports. But we’ve made it far too simple for people to place bets. It’s an ecosystem designed to trap.

And Hoberg has probably been the best ump in baseball, certainly behind the plate. Sigh. Stupidity runs rampant.
Yep. He was really good back there. It’s too bad.
