Also, I can't believe I will defend Chris Getz in public, but hiring Banny and Gene (no relation) Watson seem defensible to me. But I'm all for a dysfunctional White Sox franchise.
Agree with you on Banny for sure. He has a proven track record of success with two very analytics-forward organizations. But I do enjoy some White Sox angst courtesy of Kansas City.
Mr. O'B, I actually met Drago at a shopping center in '70; he was there to sign autographs but nobody was within 50 yards of him. He was a really nice guy. I remember he 5-hit Baltimore in their first encounter of '70, which was the last time they beat the O's until '72. Seems like the R's would get a lead, hold it til late, then one the Robinson or Boog Powell would hit a three-run shot to win it. Always a three-run shot. No stinking solos for them.
A very nice read this Sunday morning way out here on the west coast...its chilling what Getz is doing...but I like it!
Thanks, Greg! And I am likewise getting a great deal of enjoyment out of what’s happening in Chicago.
Aw, man, I missed the Drago news. RIP.
