Excellent game yesterday. And I hope Singer wasn’t blowing smoke about throwing the 4 seam and sweeper, because if he was actually throwing new pitches and got those results, that is great news and very positive reinforcement for a seemingly stubborn guy.
I don’t think he would say that if it wasn’t true. His coaches know exactly what he was throwing. There’s not much, but just enough to distinguish the four from the two seam and the slider from the sweeper. Savant has updated to show he threw 14 4-seamers. I bet we see a sweeper up there soon.
speaking of slash lines, have you noticed gameday posting OPS verses OBP and SLG now? I am not sure if it is to cut costs or part of Manfreds plan to kill baseball ;)
The only other team that reminds me of the Royals are the Pittsburgh Pirates, they always seem to be in about the same situation as the Royals. Well the Royals starting pitching looks great and the hitting came around yesterday and the Pirates are 4-0, so who knows this might be an interesting season. Also kinda interested in how the Cardinals react to finishing in last place last year, lol
I've always thought the Pirates were an intersting franchise comp for the Royals. Going all the way back to the 70's. I kind of root for them because of that. And Pops and the Cobra along with Al Oliver, Omar Moreno and Manny Sanguillen and the rest of those guys were so big when I was getting into the game. Plus, I always like their unis and the stadium cannot be beat.

Agreed: Lugo is cool, Garcia's swing is pretty, and 1.273 is hot!
It’s a good start for sure!

Hahaha...Now that you mention that...Not a fan. Give me the individual stats. And yes, let's blame Manfred.
Brainstorming some "cool & refreshing" nicknames for Lugo :
Easy Breezy
The Moist Towelette
Lemonade Stand
Sittin' In The Kid's Pool In Your Underwear ( alone, it should go without saying )
I'm going to have to take some time with these. :)

I hope the Cardinals finish in last again.
