Meant to mention after your previous column: I really like the idea of having an article to read immediately after a game has ended. I'm sure it can't be easy to crank out content that quickly but I hope you'll make a serious effort to do so!

I'm gonna try!

I fully agree with you about the powder blues. (Also about the powder blue tops over white pants. Ugh.)

Remember when Kurt Bevacqua and Doug Bird, with their huge mustaches, were known as the Bolivian Bandidos? Maybe politically incorrect today, but fun stuff back then!

Couldn't disagree with you more about the city connect uniforms but if we agreed on everything one of us would be redundant.

Here's hoping the Royals offense finds some hits tomorrow....

I loved watching him. It made me glad he made the Opening Day roster.

Clearly the player of the game yesterday. But that attempted catch on the Buxton triple...

Your uniform takes are good (I agree). The Twins cap is awful, but I like the pinstripes. Maybe it's just Buxton with the high socks, but the Navy and Red and Gray are a classic color combo.

I watched the whole game, pretty intently. Was hardly on my phone at all. That's unusual for me and a welcome change. Wish Bally's wouldn't show the pitch clock in the score bug. I don't want to think about it at all unless the umpire calls a violation.

Thanks Seth. I'm fine with the pinstripes and gray for the Twins road unis. The font is...not good.

The pace was fantastic. There's no time to wander, which is really nice. And agree on the pitch clock on the bug. A couple of broadcasts yesterday didn't have it. (Yankees, Giants) It's not necessary. The umps will let us know.

If you're the leader of the Royals, shouldn't you be the King and not the Captain?

This is a good point. Should we refer to Salvy as His Majesty?

I really didn't mind Isbel diving for that ball. He just barely missed it, and Melendez was just a little late backing him up. Worth the risk in that spot, in my opinion. Thanks Craig for the quick piece after the game yesterday.

Agreed. Realistically even if he backed off, no way that keeps the guy with the best max sprint speed in baseball from getting a double. He was inches from making the put out.

Thanks, Paul! I checked on Baseball Savant this morning...Isbel had a 5% chance of making that catch. A bit too risky for me, but I won't fault the effort.

My quick thoughts on Opening Day.

1. I obviously love the powder blues. That probably doesn't even need to be said.

2. The Twins hats suck. Bring back the interlocked TC.

3. My two boldest takes for the season might have been that Greinke has a very good year and Reyes bounces back strong after a rough 22. Greinke made me feel very smart for about 6 innings, but the Reyes prediction did not get off to a blazing start. Only one game, and I'm not overreacting, but baseball is special in the way that it can make you feel like a genius and completely humble you in the space of a single game.

It was not a good debut for Reyes yesterday. The silver lining is it didn't stand out from the rest of the slumbering offense.

And I'm really, really hoping Greinke has another solid season. It was a good first start to be sure.

Oh, and I totally forgot to mention that making Salvy captain with his three predecessors there was a great moment. In a season with pretty low expectations, barring a surprising run at contention, I think that'll be one of the real highlights of the 23 season when we look back on it.
