I turned the game off halfway through last night. I legitimately don't know if I'll even turn tonight's on. The turn around is no longer imminent, even the mirages have been dispelled.
I mean, that's definitely a complaint as I try to come up with topics for my articles and podcasts. But it's also hugely frustrating to see them lose when I expected them to win. It's reminiscent of 2016 and 2017 to me.
Very trying days for us Royals fans. My thoughts on Alec Z have been clear for a while now. I'm wondering, but don't have the tools to look it up, not sure if you can, but seeing as how you stated you're hurting for material CB lol... How many, and what percentage of opposing pitchers lowered their ERA and WHIP vs. the Royals in the month of June?
That’s probably a bit of a tough find. I think it’s just safe to assume that visiting pitchers love coming to The K. The ball stays in the yard AND they get to face the Royals.
I haven't jumped on the "fire Q" bandwagon, but I'm about to--with both feet. He refuses to change the lineup for those first six spots. Granted, the offense would likely still stink, but why not TRY something new? It culminates with the stiff of the day in the 7th spot behind Caglianone, guaranteeing him nothing to hit. (By now, he's probably too broken to hit meatballs anyway.) I can see why a computer or analytic mind would put those first six in that order, but it isn't working
A few tweaks in the off season or a full rebuild on the position player side? The latter is looking more likely, right? In short, it's hard to see them contending next year.
Schwarber has led off for Philly, so why not try Pasquantino there? (He had a great walk rate in the minors, so maybe leading off would force him to be more selective?) Put Caglianone between Garcia and Perez. I'm not saying it would definitely work, but it's something different to shake things up.
ehh i don't know as Vinnie runs slower than a rambling sasquatch and that would be 2 lefties back to back if isbel still 9th. But Cags between garcia and perez would be interesting when he starts hitting.
edit: oh i get you with the Schwarby comp, I guess i would argue he has more dingers/runs less than vinnie, and weirdly he is a little faster. You could bat izzy 8th - ok yeah, might be worth a shot, but you would probably see the pitchforks come out if it didn't work.
Pitchforks are already coming. My only point is that it's ridiculous to do the same thing for a month yet expect a different result. Put Izzy 8th & India 9th. Whatever. Just shake it up.
I can’t fault the lineup construction for the top half. The imbalance is just massive between the guys who can produce and…the rest. Drop Perez down? Sure, but that means bumping up a Waters. There aren’t many good solutions when the team is built like this.
Maybe your next article could be about the unis. specifically why did they mess up the powder blues with those silly hats? Are they mimicking trucker hats and if so just make them trucker hats. but the blue/white trucker hat batting helmets need to go. They should fire whoever came up with those hats
edit: They definitely would be hitting this year if they weren't so distracted and confused by the batting helmets
Butt Battle! just came up with the name for your next post, re: big dumper v lorenzen refined buttocks. this one is for free, but expect a credit on the next one

I feel ya bro, I was considering going to Philly in September for a series but it’s feeling like naw at this point. Really kind of sad.
Same. I was planning on this weekend in PHX, but I'm not shelling out a few hundred dollars in motel room + tickets to watch this crap.
I don’t mind the losses. My main complaint is that this team is just boring. Dullest team I’ve covered.

what would your lineup be? those guys in first six are about the only choice i see to try to get some run production.

There Is No Such Thing As A Pitching Prospect.

I think you may be onto something.
And you’re most definitely correct about how awful those hats are. Very, very bad.
