Very encouraged by Kyle Isbel saying he's going to try to go oppo more. That is his best bet to contribute to the offense. He has been making some truly terrible swing decisions up til now and

would be back in Omaha if his centerfield glove wasn't so good.

Agree. I remain strangely confident in his ability to have good plate appearances. I cannot explain why I feel this way. Probably because Quatraro keeps him in the ninth spot which is exactly where he should be.

I am right there with you, my eye likes when he comes to plate in important situations. He is a bulldog and one of my favorites, but I enjoy a face plant catch as much as a homer

Yeah. I don't just want Lynch out of the rotation, ideally I'd like to move Singer to the bullpen because I think he can help more there than he does in the rotation.

With the 2 pitch mix for Singer, it’s something that’s been discussed off and on but until the Royals find the depth…They’re going to need Singer as we move through the next couple of months even when Wacha returns and Bubic is fully healthy and contributes.

A lot of relievers are failed starters. I’m there with Lynch. I’m not sure he has the stuff to succeed in the bullpen either. But maybe he can ramp up a couple mph. He just doesn’t have the talent for being a starter. I’m to that point now. Let’s see what he can do as a lefty reliever.

I’m with you, Joel. I’ve seen enough and it’s just not working. Nor do we see signs of progress that would lead us to believe it will eventually work.

He’s been optioned today with Veneziano getting the call.
