I see Luis Robert mentioned as a potential trade pickup for the Royals, and while he's obviously got a lot of talent, I wonder if he's too used to playing in games that don't matter or if being thrust into a playoff race would rejuvenate his baseball sense.
I wonder about Robert as well. No doubt he would be an upgrade, but there will be some moments. I also hear the price for him will be steep and I’m sure the Royals can’t cover that.
Then you hear about Tommy Pham. Again, an upgrade. But the cost from a team perspective? At least he’s played for the Rays so Q (and Hoover) is familiar with him. I figure if they got him, it would be because those guys were fully on board. Funny that I’m thinking about trades from a clubhouse chemistry perspective, but this team is doing quite well in that category. The danger is you mess that up and the team stumbles out of the postseason hunt. (I can’t believe I wrote that.)
Yes, I have reservations about Pham, too. I would hope anyone like that would be cleared with the players first (or at least the team leaders) since I agree on the chemistry. Seems like that might be helping this team be a little better than the sum of their parts. I guess as long as they keep Pham out of their fantasy football league...
It is the best gif. The gif that keeps on giving. Sorry.
I’m very confused by the whole Alexander thing. It sounds like Frazier will be back this weekend. That will put and end to that, but then what of the Garcia move to second?
I'm still holding out hope that the move of Garcia to second was a precursor to KC acquiring a 3B who can hit like a 3B, but that's probably just wishful thinking.
I thought Alexander was a huge liability in the field (maybe cost the Royals a couple of runs), and Garcia is a bit of a liability at second. Fingers crossed that Massey & Frazier are ready soon, and Garcia returns to third and Alexander & Loftin go back to Omaha.
It seems to me to be contractual that Chris Stratton walks one hitter per inning. Tonight must have been a bonus thing - he walked two.
The team just looked flat and dull other than BWJ, of course. That was an amazing play he made in
the hole in the second. Such a quick release. Fast AND quick is an unbeatable combination.
We are lucky to be able to watch Witt play. He makes it look so easy, too! So good.

That Singer gif is absolute gold.
Wow, the bullpen was brutal last night. I'm not going to lose too much sleep over losing that game but that bullpen performance reeked.
I'm more than ready for the CJ Alexander experiment to come to an end. He's looked overmatched at the plate and in the field.
