Yes this rainout might be just what the Royals need. Having an extra day off at a time when it looks like they have hit the wall a little bit. Pushing Singer to a day game where he has a 1.68 ERA helps. Having Lynch pitch at the K rather than on the road feels better and now Lugo will open the Yankees series.

Yep. Just saw the official word for how the rotation lines up for the Mariners visit. With Lynch IV, Marsh and Ragans in that order. Which, as you say, means Lugo will be set for Tuesday’s start against the Yankees.

I ended up working late but then buying and playing the new Destiny 2 campaign for a bit. That was an enjoyable way to spend my evening.

Skenes is such an exciting pitcher. It's going to be interesting to see if he can develop into a guy who consistently gets late into games the way Verlander and Scherzer used to, or if he's always going to be a five-inning fireballer.

Agree on Skenes. As I was watching him yesterday, I thought I should always make it a point to watch his outings from the archives, just to soak it what he’s capable of doing. The splinker is crazy. Plus, he seems to be the kind of guy who will learn and develop. Hope he stays healthy. Baseball needs guys like him.

My first time committing. Enjoy reading your insights the Royals. I to thought that the rain out might be a good thing. Have a question on the Royals minor league catching depth. Last time I looked they had seven catchers with a OPS north of 800. Who do you think can make the show or are viable trade chips?

Thanks, Stan!

It’s looking good right now on the catching front. Of course, Mitchell is THE MAN at the moment, crushing it in A-ball. I’ve always been intrigued with Tresh, who they got out of NC State in ‘21. Kind of my dark horse catching prospect who is looking solid in Double-A. So that could mean that Jensen is the odd man out as the local product. He should be moving up prospect lists and would be an interesting guy to dangle on the trade market.

One of the rare instances where even though the farm is down perhaps overall, they have a premium position where they have some depth to create something.

Not sure how baseball is better when the Pirates are relevant.

Any time you can randomly think of Pops and Cobra and Candyman and Clemente is a good day. Manny Sanguillen, too.
