This pitching staff is something else. If they can somehow dodge injuries for a 2nd straight year they could go down as the best staff, top to bottom, in Royals history. I thought the only way they could win last night was by building a big lead with Ragans going deep but clearly I need more faith in the not-so-high leverage guys.

When I first read your section on Cags I thought it was weird that you were so late to mention his moonshot. Nope, this is #2. He's averaging 466 feet on his homers.

The potential is there for this pitching staff to be an all-timer. As you say, they have to avoid injuries, which is easier said than done. Especially when it comes to pitching. But last night was a great example of how they can make it all come together.

Cags is something else.

Am losing count of the ways Bobby Baseball can beat a team. Fabulouser and fabulouser.

Ragans had the best stuff since Duffy smoked 16 Rays in '16. AND he knows how to pitch. Wow.

Was stunned to see last night's Twins starting lineup with ONE guy with an OPS above .574. Idiot

typist me now convinced serious problem(s) internally. Just not a normal Minnesota team. Has Rocco lost the clubhouse? Can't hit and playing sloppy D? They're the walking dead out there.

Pasquatch's aggressiveness concerns me: normally love to see it but not at least taking a walk and an RBI with a chance to break a tie? Strikes me as not last year's Vinnie. And cutting in front

of a sure out (by Massey) and putting the lead run on? Vinnie - less caffeine; nibble on a valium -

use your head.

Really getting excited, jumping up and down (in my head) about this team's possibilities. Man, if they can beat Joe Ryan tonight . . .

Tigers are scary-making. That could be an epic series next weekend.

Good stuff, Terry. And plenty to think about. Vinnie looks like he's grabbing at his chances and not letting the game come to him. This is an important season for him as he's set for a raise through arbitration. If the Royals don't extend him.

Nice comp on Ragans with the Duffy start in '16, but Duffy had 35 swings and misses in that game. I will say that early in the game, Ragans had me wondering what Kevin Appier is up to these days.

I could watch Jac swing and miss as long as his swings looked like that and still be in love with it every time.

It's such a nice swing. Pure lefty.
