Given Singer’s performance last night and the Lynch news (the right decision in my view), that draft class is almost toast. Hope they give Marsh a shot, but I’m not optimistic about that.
I hope so, but it seems he was really only looking very good in the few outings right before he blew out his elbow. Hoping he gets back to that after TJ might be wishful thinking, but then again, look what happened with Ragans.
Agreed — I buy a single box of Topps every year and just LOVE the throwback feel of these cards vs the design randomizer tool they've been using during the past five or six years.
It continues, but since no one was counting on anything from Lacy this year, it's not a setback for the team. For him, though...it totally sucks. If he can get healthy—which at this point is a massive "if"—there's still a chance.
Asa Lacy is the pitching equivalent of Adalberto Mondesi. At this time last year Boston was expecting him to play early in the season as he was already sprinting and doing other baseball activities. For some reason, there was very little motivation from him to get back on the field. He was content to just collect his 3 Million and chill. Last I looked, he was the only free agent short stop still unsigned. Hopefully Lacy has the motivation to get back, but so far he has been a bust of a pick, much like Kyle Zimmer.
I have a difficult time questioning the motivation of any pro athlete (Kevin McReynolds being the an exception). For a guy like Mondesi and now Lacy, the mental toll of not being able to compete at a level they know they can compete at when healthy has to be enormous when all they've experienced is setback after setback. That's why a strong support group is so important. Look at a guy like Ragans who missed 3+ seasons. Comebacks can happen.
Lacy seems to really be determined to get back and he probably will. I question Mondesi and his motivation last year at least. Still , I thought he would get at least a minor league contract. He may resurface somewhere, after several years absence Pablo Sandavol is in Giant's camp on a minor league deal.
I wonder what Asa Lacy's career could have been if he hadn't basically lost the entire 2020 season. Then again, the Royals' pitching "development" people at the time would have been working with him...

There is still some hope for Lynch and Bubic.
I’m cautiously optimistic on Bubic’s return.

That second inning was rough for sure. I was a bit distracted listening to Rex and Bo so that wasn’t too bad.
I’m on board with Marsh just to see what they’ve got.
It looked like 1989 Bo was hitting against Singer. Missiles everywhere.

Design radomizer is perfect. They've been so just...uninspired.
Really bad news about Lacy. The Royals' luck with drafting and developing starting pitching continues.
