My heart stopped when Witt got up throwing that ball. He's very lucky he didn't immediately give them a chance to score that run after all with a wild throw to first.
Still, best win of the season so far for the Royals and definitely a game they would have lost last year.
It's been said that this team is at a stage of growth where they will have to learn how to win the close games. So, it's cool to see they are winning close games while learning how to win close games.
My dog lifted her head with concern when I sighed upon seeing Frazier and Renfroe back to back on the lineup card last night. But I do have to throw a bone to Frazier, he did make an amazing diving catch to keep the sox going up at least 4-2 in that last game of the series. Was definitely not a fan of Renfroe right out of the gate, but maybe that homer granted him a little more patience. Hampson is very forgettable but for some reason I am kind of okay with it. Maybe i am ok with giving these old guys a little more time to warm up because the team is winning. Maybe i am believing the solicited comments from the younger guys of the veteran presence contributing to the clubhouse chemistry and knowledge. Pretty sure if Royals fall below .500 at least one of them will be in my doghouse.
After last night's win, I found myself thinking all they have to do is take one of the next two to win the series, and that will be great because the key to success in baseball is winning series. And that's absolutely true. But then I started thinking about how many times the Royals' season has been effectively over by May 1 because of a long, often double-digit losing streak right out of the gate, and I thought, we're overdue for an early double-digit winning streak. Maybe it's greedy, and it definitely feels like crazy talk coming from a Royals fans, but there's nothing in the rule book that says we can't win 10 or more in a row.

Agree with you on Frazier. He’s not the solution. Either Massey or Loftin needs to take the job this season.

For sure Blinded by the light. Wrapped up in the 10th, another Salvy roper in the night.
Couldn’t resist CB
Why do you call Hampson Manfred Man?
