I was super-high on Bubic's adjustments before we got hurt. No reason not to continue to believe.
I thought for a moment about dropping the pitch chart from the Melendez PA in the fourth inning. As ugly as it can be. But I decided to keep things positive today. :)
The White Sox should definitely be worse than the Twins, but I really don't get the Twins love across baseball. They fell apart at the end of last season and did nothing to improve their team during the offseason. I complain about the Royals not adding an outfielder, but the Twins only lost talent.
I believe most of that was based on "they have the most talent when healthy," which may be true but also leaves "when healthy" to do Olympic-level weightlifting.
Edit to add: they definitely did nothing of note to improve besides hoping guys stay healthy.
Thanks for the clips- I had missed Churrio looking foolish. And definitely never too early for the probability chart.
I am all in on Garcia, and have never taken my chips off the table. Had great seats for the series last season against the nationals, and while he wasn't spectacular, you could just see the allstar about to reveal himself a la tom cruise in mission impossible. Just so darned athletic. Did you see that play when he came in at 2b? I selfishly hope India sticks in LF so I can watch more Maikel. I am so in that I have already started worrying about them dealing him next year.
Think he’ll tail off like last season? These short bursts where things seem to click for him are so damn tantalizing. Give me a little offensive production with that defensive skill set he’s developing and you have a good first division regular.
Right now I have no reason not to think he'll tail off. If he can hit and get around a .700 OBP, with his defense and base running he's almost as valuable as a Lorenzo Cain. I'm hoping he finds consistency at the plate this year. It would be big.
I get it. He’s never shown the ability to produce even semi-consistently at the plate. But since JJ and staff weren’t able to upgrade the outfield, this team really needs someone to take a step forward.
I am a Garcia and Melendez fan. I do think, however, that MJ will spend some time in Omaha this year trying to get his stance or head straightened out. I still remember him in Omaha in the summer of '21, boy could he crush the ball. I want to see that guy out in left field, not the current rendition.
A balanced offense. What a concept.
Bubic's intelligence will serve him very well. As dominant a performance as I can recall, even from last year.
The Brewers look hapless on the mound and at the plate. I actually feel sorry for their fans. I understand Milwaukee to be very similar to our city.
Does anyone think MJ can survive April?
Oh man, if only Maikel . . .
(Singing) Go Sox Go! Go Sox Go! Hey Chicago what do you say, the Sox are going to win today!
What a tragedy that Steve Goodman died so young.

Your MJ positivity isn’t yet infectious….
No, no, no…The pitch chart was anything but positive. Very close to writing a “time to move on” post.
Does he have options left?
He has 2. If the Royals can send Moustakas down in 2014…
…and Gordon in 2009….no dishonor in that history…

Around $10 million in free agent spending for three guys total, none of whom signed before February. That's a team that's not trying to improve.

The Twins hoping that their guys can stay healthy is like me hoping I’ll win the lottery.

Yes! Forgot to mention that he shifted to the infield in the later innings. Stud with the glove. I’m rooting for this kid.
The jury is still out on Garcia. I say give him another week.

True that the options are limited. He's easily the second-best option (to Isbel) to roam the outfield.
