If I were to title this game I would call it "Back From the Doomed."

There were (to me) so many omens that indicated coming defeat:

* The weird way BOTH teams' scoreless streaks ended in the same inning, jump-started by an error.

* The abrupt end to what looked like a huge, game-breaking scoring binge in the third.

* The sudden coldness of the bats.

* Wacha's careless walk with a nice lead, the fluke hit, the following HR just clearing the wall.

But all were turned around in the 9th and it all started when MJ TOOK a high pitch, his kryptonite.

MJ frustrates me more than any Royal hitter since Esky (the all-time champ). Bless you, MJ.

Please, no Singer in the playoffs. He does poorly in big games. You could look it up.

Come on, Vinnie.

Thx for all the GIFs and charts, Mr. B. You are the best.

Thanks, Terry. It was quite the game and a true statement win. Appreciate you hanging in with me this year!

The pleasure is all mine. It is so refreshing to read a Royals "reporter" who knows his (stuff) but can also really write.

Frazier’s at bat definitely gave off some 2014-15 vibes. When things are going right . . . I won’t take all the credit. Now they need to finish it off and have a playoff series against the O’s—so I can be there in person!

I will root for the five seed so you can bring the 2014 mojo back to Camden Yards.

Haha, I suppose so, as long as they secure that last win. Fingers crossed…

They should make a statue out of that follow through.
