That series in Charm City in April was so tightly contested it woke me up to the possibilities of this Royals team.
Sorry, got no confidence in The Carlos Hernandez Experiment. Like Stratton, he always seems to have to walk a guy an inning. No fan of Marsh but his stuff is a tick more reliable.
Have completely lost confidence in MJ; he's an absolute mess at the plate, as is DeJong. Leave both of them off.
Speaking of messes at the plate: Garcia is lost with a bat in his hands but excellent with a glove on one of them. Gotta have that.
Right there with ya on R's in three, Mr. B. Something special's gonna happen, just don't know what. Vinnie P could make one helluva story.
I left those guys off my projection! Grossman just doesn't do anything for the team. I bet he was a safety claim if they missed out on Pham. Marsh because he pitched deep into the game on Sunday and probably wouldn't be able to go again until Game Three. They have plenty of coverage. I think 11 pitchers makes a lot of sense. Pleasantly surprised they would do that.
I read comments about Garcia’s body language, hustle, and attitude but I’m reluctant to make those judgments about someone I don’t know and haven’t been around. I think tiredness and fatigue, as you mention, or even being down on himself for falling off this year could be the explanation. I still believe in him but he ain’t there yet.
Enjoyed reading this, Craig. Good analysis and reasoning. It occurs to me that with Q using Erceg in the highest-leverage situations (not just the 9th), we should revive the term Fireman.

Roster dropped. No Hernández. So 11 pitchers. DeJong makes it.
I've felt that even Garcia's defense has slumped. He looks worn out.
Yes and Marsh and Grossman are dropped

11, bold!

Thanks, Clark. And yes...I will use the term "Fireman" if it applies. Love it.
Giddy Up!
