Mr. B, Can you please explain why the perennially disappointing Ryan O'Hearn keeps getting added to the roster? Is it just that he bats lefty and every now and then pops one? Thanks.
I respect the Royals doing right by Whit. My only concern is that a declining Whit is still an excellent super-utility guy but not a starter on a contending team, which we all want the Royals to be in 2023 (if not this year). Hopefully the contract negotiations included some understandings about that, although the mega happy ending would be that Whit rebounds and has two yeard like '18 and '19.
It's going to be difficult for Whit to rebound. I'll settle for a slight improvement from last year or just holding off further decline over these last two years. He will still bring the value. The Royals and Matheny will just have to figure out how to maximize that value.

My best explanation is I have no explanation. Other than the Royals obviously believe in him.
