All great points, hadn't really thought about the possibility of keeping Isbel up and moving Whit back to second until yesterday. Maybe I'm contradicting myself because I didn't think you could keep BWJ up just because the almost 100% likelihood he is better than Nicky at this point. I would be more willing to do that and keep Isbel up than watch Nicky continue to struggle with the bat. Isbel and BWJ are two different prospects and I want us to be 100% certain he is ready to come up and be a productive major leaguer.

Agree on Witt and Isbel being different prospects. Not everyone follows the same developmental path. And the Royals know the stakes are high for both. They really have to get this right.

I am intrigued by this idea of having Isbel in right and Nicky back in the Minors. I think Nicky could use some time in Omaha to work on some things. He doesn't at all look like the hitter he was as recently as 2019, as he struck out an insane amount for his standards this Spring, and last year. While I still want to believe Nicky, I would rather have him play everyday and get that confidence back. What sucks though is the Minor League not starting for a month, which may mean it may not be until the All-Star break til we see Nicky again should the Royals go that route.

With the news the Royals reassigned Isbel to the minor league camp, that’s undoubtedly good news for Lopez. I guess the Royals will ride with the defense there for now. But he really has to rediscover his M.O. at the plate and cut the strikeouts and up the walks. Alberto is lurking for regular PT now.
