Fun baseball is fun! Watching a ton of it. Need to get out to the park again before my allergies kick in.
It's been a total team effort to this point and it looks sustainable (except the starting pitchers absolute brilliance). Quatraro is an outstanding manager. Never feel like he leaves wins on the table. Never makes me scratch my head. We're lucky to have him.
It has been a total team effort, hasn’t it? They’re getting it done together and that’s coming through in the vibes we pick up watching these games.
I agree with you on Q. I know there are some skeptics out there, but he’s a good one. I think he’s not that different from Witt in that in his rookie year the game maybe sped up for him at times. He’s more comfortable out there and the players respond to his style. It’s a good mix.
I am very glad to see Salvy show some plate discipline. I think his predilection to chase low, outside sliders could be the one weakness that keeps him out of Cooperstown.
He is who he is, but that’s not to say he can’t occasionally flash the discipline like we saw at times this weekend. It would certainly help if he could consistently lay off those pitches, but low and outside the zone was where his Wild Card hit was located, so if that’s the tradeoff, I’ll deal with it. :)
Excellent series for the Royals, even if it was against the hapless White Sox (it feels good not to be the hapless team anymore). A real test coming up against the Astros.
Craig you may be vibing almost as much as MJ, nice writeup - thank you. Right there with you on the seeming momentum shift of Friday's game. Then Salvy walks and Renfroe dongs, talk about potential omens. Enjoyed watching this weekend almost as much as I have enjoyed watching that Melendez bat flip with all the kids cheering 20+times. Lets GO!

The Royals handled business. Two out of two would’ve been a disappointment. Three out of four would’ve been excellent. Four out of four was fantastic.
Here's to MJ, may his bat stay hot and his glove not disappoint.
Cheers to that!

Thanks, Herbie. It helps that this team is infinitely more interesting than the one we saw last April. What a difference!
