When I asked you yesterday about Whit's defense I was a little concerned, but after last night which I would guess was Whit's worst defensive performance of his career I am a lot concerned. With the way we are hitting, we just can't afford giving extra outs. Hopefully Whit will turn it around soon. On the bright side we are still 9-7 and in 1st place! Great job Craig!

am impatient with Benetendi. Does not seem to be driving the ball at all. Have yet to se him consistently barrel the ball despite getting pitches to hit. In the field he is just okay without great speed and some of his throws into the infield seem lackadaisical without focus. He dddd not have a good arm in left. I am spoiled by Gordons's great routes, surehandedness and unhurried accurate throws to cutoff men and the bags. I just do not see spark in the guy. Looking over his breakout 2019 season at Fenway I saw at least a half dozen long flies that barely made it out of the yard and would be outs at KC. His slugging did not impress me at all. Couple his slow start in 2021 with his similar 2020 numbers and you have a guy that is mediocre at best and not really contributing to the lineup. Soler and Dozier I can be patient with because I can see the power and the hard hit balls at somebody. Not Benetendi. Lots of lazy shallow flies and soft grounders.

Maybe keep Isbel in there or give Olivares another shot. Left field is a production position. Too bad Hanson doesn't play the outfield.
