The Bear is as fantastic as this Royals team is awful. And I'd rather watch the Omaha bullpen try the big leagues than see any more of Clarke and Cuas.

They gotta fire up that I29 shuttle. And start getting transactional to move some of these guys off the 40-man.

Great article that had me laughing all the way through CB.

Now if you want to laugh all the way to the bank, I'd recommend my latest strategy when it comes to the Royals... go on DraftKings or your favorite allowed sportsbook and always bet the moneyline (not the run line, the Royals too often only lose by one) and bet on WHOEVER the Royals are playing.

While it doesn't work EVERYTIME, it does work 72.6% of the time - and then when they do lose, you can 'not completely lose your mind!' The payoff last night was me laughing all the way to the bank as the train spilled off the tracks, down the hill and over the canyon wall.

Thanks, Coach. If you play those wagers correctly, you may be able to buy into the ownership group.

Hahaha. And cash in on that downtown stadium. You’re on to me CB!

Was at game. Great assessment. I was mad about Barlow, but explanation makes sense.

That explanation is the only thing I have. It's not much. I'm thinking the return will be a little more than what they got for Chapman if they play it right.

There’s no one who enjoys being entertained more than me. Whether it’s written, viewed in person or produced for my viewing pleasure. I enjoy being entertained. Reading your account of last night’s effort completed my entertainment “trifecta.”

Last night’s game was high comedy and tragedy. I attended the game at the K with my middle-aged son and enjoyed a rare, cool mid-July evening as the clouds rolled in and the wind changed directions. It’s been the 2023 season of creative ways to lose games. The Royals danced around the banana peel for seven innings, knowing it was just a matter of time before they stepped right on that sucker. Too bad. The Royals had an above average crowd for a Monday night game (thanks to the Bo Jackson bobble head giveaway). Lots of kids and energy. I hate to see it squandered. That’s baseball.

Speaking of entertainment and my viewing pleasure, I agree with your appraisal of “The Bear.” We know that a memorable series starts with a clean sheet of paper, a good idea/script/acting, creative production and delivery. A memorable series. Hopefully, it’ll attract a larger audience as it unfolds.

I enjoy your posts. Keep ‘‘em coming.

Thanks, George! Glad I could help you achieve the trifecta.

Same on hating to see it squandered. It feels all too familiar to have the Royals waste any opportunities to build the fanbase.

I'm going to watch The Bear several more times, I think.

Great headline (and article) Craig, and unfortunately it sums up my feelings this season. With all the losing, and really, the WAY they lose, I've gotten to the point where I only check in every 2-3 games to see what is going on. Our power was out the entire weekend, so easy to take a break from viewing the Boys. Then I turned it on last night about the 5th and enjoyed watching Lyles and Hernandez pitch, thinking 2-0 is not an overwhelming win but we'll take it. Then the 8th and I get sick to my stomach watching them lose exactly how they've done so often this year. Again I turn it off saying no more!...but knowing I'll be drawn back to check it out again in a night or two. *SIGH*

Thanks, Clark. They do keep you coming back, don't they? It's the rare evening where you're pleased when you check in. You're often left dazed and, at least in my case, moderately bemused.

It's criminal to waste that kind of start from Lyles.

Great writing Craig. I too was at game. The experience was great. The game not so much. The thing I don't get, when Taylor came in I knew they were done for. Clarke, Cuas, Sniider, Wittgren, Duffy and anyone 28 or above should be off this team. If we're evaluating, let's be looking at young guys.

The inevitability among the non-Barlow relievers is strong. I do suspect that post-trade deadline, we will see quite a bit of shuffling of guys off the 40-man at the expense of some younger players.
