Sooo glad they didn't panic about Jac, but it's not like they had another option laying around.
I have the maddest man-crush on Freddy Fender - sorry, Fermin.
Sure wish Pham could have done some of that onbase-ing stuff last September. Jackass.
Very relieved Erceg has reacquainted himself with the strike zone. Now stay there.
Estevez is baseball's contradiction of Will Rogers; Carlos has never met a clean inning he liked.
Keuchel's signing concerns me: either they're desperate to find a bridge to Ragans' return once they trade Lugo - or maybe they just want a ZZ Top look-alike in the Omaha clubhouse.
Amazing. The teams has gone from 5.5 out of the Wild Card, chasing FIVE teams, to tied for the team closest to the Mariners for the last spot, at 3.0 out. In just nine games.
We fans need to double-check the cinches on our saddles. This is going to be a wild ride with LOTS of bucking.
Nice to have Jac hit a couple of home runs, but he's not out of the woods yet. I am more optimistic that he can turn it around here, in the majors, rather than needing some time down at Omaha.
MLB rewards mediocrity now with three Wild Cards. That means as soon as a team gets hot, there's a surge in the standings. There's quite a bunch of teams just outside that third spot.
And I completely get the sentiment regarding Pham. I feel the same way.
Great wins all week, we desperately needed that sweep. However, why do the rest of the AL Central teams have to turn it on as soon as we start winning games???
Craig, what percentage of runners get thrown out by our catchers? Having 20 less SBs than the next team is insane. Is it because they don't get run on as often, or is Freddy/Salvy just mowing them down?
The stolen base success rate for Royals opponents is 56%. The Mets are next at 63%. There have been only 36 attempted steals against them.
Fermin and Salvy are both really good, but the pitchers need some credit as well. Whatever they're doing to mix up the timing while holding runners close is working.
That's multiple days of better plate appearances from Jac, Salvy's real numbers catching up to his expected numbers, and Nick Loftin tattooing the ball all over the yard.
At 7-2 in their last nine, I'm ready to call this a true hot streak. The question is, how long will it last and what will happen once it ends?
It took the Royals half a season to remember that "Chicks dig the long ball"?
Better late than never!

It will probably be that way for the next two-plus months. Hang on!
For Salvy to do that on the night they gave away Super-Salvy-man bobbleheads is something else. He does have a flair for the dramatic.
Indeed. Salvy knows what's up.
What a great game to get to see. Anyone writing about the royals this season deserves a cookie
I will take a cookie. And hope for some ice cream.

I think the answer is both.

The set up and the swing aren’t perfectly matched, but that full extension power from the left side reminds me of Freddie Lynn….
