I think the Royals are getting hot at the right time CB. I am very excited for the Boston Series. Time to make some noise!

Take two of three from the Sawx in Boston and they will be cooking.

This Boston series is going to be rough, but if they can get even one of the games it's a 500 stretch against two top teams post-deadline. Then they get nine against some much weaker opponents. Hang on here and then feast and things could look really good in a couple of weeks.

Agree. I think a .500 stretch against the Jays and Sox is good enough. But only if they can get over on the supposed weaker competition.

I’m still not convinced this is a playoff team. But I’m willing to be persuaded.

I just glanced at the final standings for the past few seasons, and generally, 86 wins gets a WC spot with only a couple of exceptions. So if the Royals can go 30-20 in their final 50 games--

Going to be excruciating if they miss the postseason by a single game.

If they keep in the race, I guess we'll start looking at tiebreakers for that last WC spot.

I’m with you on the 86 win marker. That feels right. I’m less convinced that this team is capable of .600 baseball over a long stretch. But with two new arms in the rotation and Yaz providing left-handed platoon pop, it will be fun to find out.

Hey, Isbel is finally producing consistently. Wish India would do the same, but getting hit by pitches is about the only thing he can seem to do with any reularity.

The team is finally getting ahead of the lesser competitors - Tampa, Minnesota, sad sack Angels - which can clear the way for a direct shot at the more serious - Rangers, M's, (Astros?).

It is going to be a slog the rest of the way, providing the offense can stay reasonably competitive, which is always doubtful, given the way it reverted to anemia after Friday night's "explosion."

There’s been a real “feast-or-famine” style from this offense since the break. More feasting, but it still feels like they’re not far off from another stretch of poor performance. That’s probably not fair, but that’s how it feels after watching this team stuggle with the bats the first three month of the year.

Hey, we get a reason to watch every night in August and hopefully September. That’s something.

Love the breakdown of the rundown. I might have a newfound crush on Frazier

Thanks, Herbie. I know we got a full dose of Frazier last year, but I’m liking what I’ve seen so far in his second time around.
