The Royals just finished their worst week of the season, culminating in a performance where they could barely muster anything from their bats. Time to panic? Errrr...not quite yet.
The Guardians are threatening to run away and hide. I don't see the Twins having a shot to catch them,
not with the G's shutdown bullpen. If the R's can't catch a Wild Card I say let's get behind the G's and root them into a WS victory. Goodness knows their fans deserve it and it would be a finger in the eye to all the Central Division haters.
I think we all knew this month was going to be brutal with the schedule. I was hoping we’d be closer to .500 in June but the team now has to play their hand. They’ll make this race fun down the stretch.
It’s far from over, and it was never going to be easy. Even in Manfred’s wacky playoff scheme, it’s going to be incredibly difficult to go from 106 losses to the postseason. At the very least, the team is relevant again and yes, the rest of the season should be fun to watch unfold.
This is a critical week for this team—and hopefully not the last critical week. After this week, we’ll have a better idea of what they really are, and where they should go from here.
As bad as the relief pitching is (and we all know it is terrible!), the Royals starters have kept them in games through at least the first 5 innings. As a starting pitcher, the Royals pitchers have to absolutely hate giving up the ball. They know that if there was a chance for a win, it is gone once the relievers take over. The Royals hitters, hmmm. they haven't done dog dung. They currently are the worst of the worst, Garcia is laughable at the plate, flailing at pitches that I though only Salvy would swing at. Melendez has his hot moment and then relapses back to his .150 batting average form. The Royals need help in the worst way. A good relief pitcher and a good hitter might solve most of the issues. The Royals farm system is not very good, but they might have a few pieces that could nab some help. Will the front office do it, or will they wait for a long shot turn around? I still love watching them as frustrating as this month has been. I am sure the players feel the same way. Go Royals

I would very much like it if two teams from the Central made it to the ALCS. I would prefer one of those teams to be the Royals…

Three against the Marlins. Four with the Guardians. All at home. Yep. Feels like a very important moment in the season.
