Thanks for the article. The team is exciting again and these articles help the build up, for me at least. I will note I felt Cole Ragan really struggled against the Astros on 04/09. Especially those first several innings. I like the way he kept griding and kept it close enought so we could pull off the win in 10 extra's but it could've easily been way worse than 3 ER's. Hopefully these two starts are not a trend.
The good news is he held his velocity and all his other metrics were right in line with previous performances. Even the swings and misses. More evidence never hurts, but right now I’m willing to write this off as “one of those days.” Hope I’m right.
It was a disappointing series but I'm trying to console myself with reminders that the Orioles are REALLY good, and in the six games against them this year, the cumulative score was BAL 29, KC 27.
I thought about mentioning the cumulative score. I think it’s telling. There was a range of outcomes for this season series. It’s a good measuring stick and I think Vinnie summed it up well. Close, but just not all the way there yet.
One note about Saturday night's attendance: it came on a night when Sporting KC (19,637) and the Current (11,500) both also played at home in front of sellout crowds. Fun night in KC sports.
Great point. We do enjoy our sports teams when they give us something to be enthused about. Although if Sporting would stop dropping points, I would appreciate that.
