It’s just hard to develop helpful take-aways from CWS games, as they are just a bad team (although perhaps not as ridiculously bad as they have been). I enjoyed watching their starter tho; he’ll clearly be the next in a series of very good pitchers they have given to other teams for their next set of building blocks. Summers are long on the South Side.
I have long said that the Witt/Massey combo up the middle gives the Royals a fantastic defensive pairing at two very important spots. But the glove can only carry Massey so far. I don't necessarily disagree with the idea of moving India to second. But you only have one rock to plug multiple holes in the dam. Moving that one just creates a leak someplace else.
I was greatly amused by the broadcasters talking about how good Lynch was defensively before he helped Pasquantino complete that double play. I'm used to just kind nodding along and not paying too much attention when they go off like that, but Lynch sure made it seem like they were actually on to something this time.
While Garcia's bat and glove have been invaluable, his baserunning has regressed. He's had a number of brain burps on the bases. Hopefully, these will pass soon.
That nightmare at third base reminded me a bit of Aoki getting picked off in the 2014 playoffs (if I'm remembering well, his dive back to the base ended about four inches short). Both games ended well tho =)
This year, Garcia has been worth -0.7 BaseRunning Runs according to FanGraphs. Obviously, there's plenty of time to flip that negative into a positive, but last season he was at 8.1. I was always told speed doesn't slump.
I admit I was wrong. Offense can still be offensive at times yet the pitching is overcoming. That Noah Cameron gem was really good for the team as a whole. Those things never happen to the Royals!

Indeed. It feels like they have more...purpose? I don't know. Bad is bad.
They have dug themselves quite a hole.
To use just one word-efficient.
Nice to see stealing. BWJ following up on his vow to improve on last year's total.
Maikel is becoming a DUDE; so grateful BWJ is getting that level of support from SOMEbody.
Disagree with poll on Royals Review showing fans overwhelming calling for India to move to 2B.
1) He will improve in left and it's not like there's anybody else who can reliably fill that role.
2) Massey is a superb second baseman, he and BWJ combo well. That DP Sunday was athletic and
balletic. Sublime. At least wait til Memorial Day to see if his bat can come around. I see progress.
Vinnie, to my eyes, is really coming along fine with his glove; if he'd just be more careful ranging.
Lynch is very athletic defensively. Too bad he won't have enough chances to qualify for Gold Glove.

It's easy to ignore the praise from the TV broadcasts because there's...a lot. Sometimes, they're right!

I enjoyed watching Aoki play. There was a bit of adventure that was involved.

If Steve Stone called it embarrassing, I can only imagine what Hawk Harrelson would have said.
Hahahaha. Something, something, disgrace, something.

The pitching has been otherworldly. It's as if they've come to an understanding.
